THULANI NKOSI

Student and Volunteer in JOHANNESBURG

My name Is Thulani Innocent Nkosi from a rural but developing area in the Mpumalanga province called Lothair. I am a B E.d student majoring in Physical Sciences and Life Sciences at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), and volunteer in teaching the senior phase and FET phase Natural Sciences and Physical Sciences along with life Sciences currently living in Johannesburg. My interests range from education to technology. I am also interested in reading Science books, especially books that inspire one to become innovative and become a critical thinker under industry 4.0. As an aspiring Science teacher of the 21st century, I believe that education has the purpose of creating critical, innovative, and responsible citizens, hence why I teach to develop the mind and allow my learners to think outside the box so that they can be able to apply the knowledge to solve everyday problems. I believe that a teacher should facilitate learning and treat learners as individuals who are already having basic knowledge so that it can be easy for you as a teacher to scaffold their knowledge from the basic level to the highest cognitive level according to Bloom's taxonomy. I am so much interested in Science and Technology because I believe that they drive the world in fields like medicine, education, agriculture, energy, transport, brewery, communications, and other fields that have the potential of growing the South African Economy and move the world forward.
