Tobinworld

Glendale, CA

Founded in 1977, Tobinworld serves individuals with autism and other developmental challenges, providing its students with a well-rounded and supportive academic experience. Located in Glendale, California, with a second, smaller location situated in Antioch, California, Tobinworld retains growing enrollment numbers and expanding programs. Currently, Tobinworld provides learning for students from ages 5 to 22. Because the school serves kindergarten through 12th grade, students enjoy the opportunity to remain in one institution for the bulk of their learning. This facilitates a level of comfort and support that these individuals most often require.

Segmented into various programs based upon each student's needs and challenges, Tobinworld has developed careful and thorough processes for assessing each student and the path best suited for individual circumstances. With opportunities for one-on-one learning, social integration exercises, skill building, and positive reinforcement for appropriate behavior, students thrive as they gain confidence and a better understanding of their progress each year. Tobinworld places a deep focus on positive interactions and supportive learning environments. With the school's highly popular rewards system and vocational education programs, students gain the ability to function in real-world scenarios and realize the favorable outcomes that accompany positive behavior.

Currently, Tobinworld employees a total of over 220 teachers, licensed clinicians, and classroom aides at its sites. Several Certified American National Red Cross Instructors remain on staff, and all instructors are trained in pediatric and general CPR methods. Tobinworld also emphasizes the importance of continuous education, encouraging staff members to take part in various educational workshops and conferences.
