Todd Hollenhorst

Seattle, Washington, United States

Throughout his fifteen years of playing piano, Todd has excelled as a piano accompanist. He performed alongside singer/trombonist Aubrey Logan, a rising star in the Los Angeles music community for her record label showcase. He was selected as the jazz pianist for the MENC All-Northwest Jazz Choir, performing with other top musicians from six states. Todd honed his skills as an accompanist during his four years in the award winning Meadowdale High School music program in Edmonds WA.

Todd has accompanied Downbeat Jazz Vocalist of the Year Siobhan Brugger, as well as Taylor Zickefoose, winner of the Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist Competition. He met these two vocalists during his time as the pianist for Impressions, a nationally recognized vocal jazz ensemble. Todd has received rewards including “Outstanding Musician” at the 2011 DeMiero Jazz Festival and “Outstanding Soloist” at Jazz Unlimited a music festival in Richland, Washington.

Currently Todd is a senior studying as a jazz piano performance major at Cornish College of the Arts. He has studied with Randy Halberstadt and Dawn Clement and has played in several Cornish ensembles. While at Cornish it has been his pleasure to be part of two workshops, working with Paoli Mejias and Darcy James Argue, each with solo piano features.

After several years of working with children with special needs at Providence Children’s Center, Todd hopes to use his musical talent and music degree in the field of music therapy. In his free time Todd enjoys fishing, cooking and playing with his dog, Berkley.
