Todd G. Smith
Austin, TX
I'm an Assistant Professor of Political Science at the University of Nevada, Reno. I received my PhD from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at The University of Texas at Austin. My research focuses on Africa and includes several related topics ranging from climate change impacts, vulnerability and adaptation; poverty reduction and development; urban informal settlements; and food security issues.
Although much of my time in Austin is spent slogging through and analyzing quantitative data in an office cubicle, I am fortunate to travel to Africa regularly for research. I have been a visiting research scholar at the University of Cape Town and I have worked for Doctors Without Borders in Ethiopia, Impumelelo Social Innovations Centre in South Africa, and the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Uganda.
Please see my linked Wordpress site for my full CV and list of publications.
