Born and raised in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, Todd graduated from Atlantic Union College with bachelors degrees in English and Art. At the University of Vermont he studied screenwriting with John Pielmeier, the award-winning screenwriter of Agnes of God, The Pillars of the Earth and many other miniseries and movies. Since 2005 he has lived in New Hampshire.
