Tolerance and Acceptance Workshop - 1.5 hours
· Understanding the origins of prejudice.
· How people define themselves.
· Why prejudice originated.
· Walk in the shoes of an immigrant student.
Tolerance and Acceptance Workshop Fee: $1800.00
This workshop brings understanding to the origins of prejudice and a glimpse of how people of different cultures define themselves. Those in attendance learn to see the classroom from different perspectives. Through a DVD short, Walking in the Shoes of an Immigrant Child, educators experience a young boy’s first day of school in the United States. In a group exercise, the audience will experience what it might feel like to have a mental disorder where they hear voices. Finally, they learn how, if left to themselves, children can be compassionate to others struggling with a disability. Be prepared to laugh and cry. Meets core curriculum requirements for Health and Social Studies.
