Toluwalashe Soyemi

Soyemi is a medical doctor-in-training passionate about health, social entrepreneurship and social innovation. He is the first student in Nigeria to be awarded the Diana Award; in memory of Princess Diana of Wales-UK earning him to be featured on more than 20 news platforms from several countries in 2020. He currently works with Born This Way Foundation, one of the top mental health organizations in the USA as an advisory board member. The organization is jointly owned by popular celebrity and music star- Lady Gaga and her mother.
While serving as a country Ambassador to one of the largest grant-giving organization in the world -PEACEFIRST as well as one of the global 12 Orygen fellows selected to undergo a 6-month fellowship with the organization, Tolu is simply passionate about impact and bridging the gap between potential and performance.
A budding researcher of several published academic papers, and freelance grantswriter, Tolu has directly supported several projects including health, poverty and geo-journalism in winning over $95,000 in grant funding from organizations like Google, PeaceFirst and Pollination PROJECT.
He is a 2018 fellow and Campus Director of the United Nations Academic Impact Millenium Fellowship, 2018 HultPrize Campus Director, 2019 UN SDG TALENT (selected to represent Nigeria in Shenzen, China) and Honorary Ambassador to several local organizations like SDGACTS, Excel Minds.
