Mental Health Advocate and Student volunteer in Nigeria
TOLUWANI EYITAYO ADEBAYO is a fourth year Nigerian medical student of Bowen University Iwo, Who focuses on mental health advocacy. There is an increase in the incidence of mental health condition in Nigeria and the world at large and people with mental health conditions are commonly stigmatized. As a result of this, She has a passion to change the view of mental healthcare in Nigeria (in particular) and in Africa as a whole.
She is trying to change the perspective of people by using measurable actions such as creating awareness about mental illnesses,advocating for mental health patients, providing support for those diagnosed with mental illnesses; in the aspects of sensitizing and caring for mental health patients.
Toluwani E. Adebayo currently has Bachelor of Medicine;Bachelor of Surgery in view. She has about 2 years experience of been a mental health advocate. She is A 2019 kectil colleague, A 2019 AFRICAVE fellow, A 2019 YALI RLC cohort 11 fellow and a member of MHIN(Mental Health Innovative Network).
Toluwani is a student volunteer who believes in changing the world's perspective about mental health.
