1. The Twin Mattress Size (Twin Mattress Dimensions)

These are the smallest available mattress in the market after crib and futon. Twin size mattresses are also referred to as “single mattresses”. Full Size Mattress is also known as a double mattress. In the earlier days, it was used to accommodate two sleeping partners, but with the increasing demand of sleeping space and comfort, they are largely occupied by single users. It gives way for a very comfort sleep if occupied by a single sleeper.

3. The Queen Mattress Size (Queen Size Mattress Dimensions)

Queen size mattresses are far wider and a bit longer than a twin size mattress. They are 21” wider and 5” longer than a twin size mattress. Because of its high demand, finding the bedding accessories is not much of a concern here. Most hotels usually have a queen size mattress on the bed. It provides great comfort for not very tall people and is easy to find.

The overall mattress dimensions are 60”x 80” where 60” and 80” represent width and length respectively. Each individual has a 3” more sleeping space than in a double bed. That is a total of 30” of sleeping space is available for the sleeper

The king size mattresses is regarded with two different names- a standard kind mattress and a California King mattress. For, some might get confused when expressed as eastern king/western king. However, a standard king is also referred to as an eastern king, while the California king is known as the western king.

Features of a King Size Mattress

The mattress dimensions being 76” by 80” long, serves to be 16 inches wider than a queen size mattress. It offers a personal sleeping space of 38 inches that is a significant 8 inches more than what a queen size mattress has to offer. However with a standard king size, the length remains the same.

The California king size has a width of 72 inches and a length of 84 inches. It thus, serves 4 inches longer than a normal queen size mattress.
