Tom Jolly
Consultant in Norwich, United Kingdom
Hi, I’m Tom.
I’m an insurance consultant / account executive living in Norwich, United Kingdom. I work in Norwich although I visit London a fair amount.
I specialise in providing risk and insurance advice to property investors and real estate companies.
Having attained a 2(i) honours degree in Geography at Kingston University, I became a financial derivatives broker-trader, working on both the LIFFE floor and in offices executing orders for proprietary and swap trading desks. The experience taught me about the value of mental performance in high pressure situations and of concentration and focus when it matters.
When open outcry trading declined I decided to re-assess my career. For a few months I traded my own account and developed websites (which remains a hobby today) before deciding to join Marsh as a client adviser in its Finpro & Real Estate Practice. I managed the insurance programmes of existing banking and real estate clients. In Jan 2007 I was promoted to client executive in London, focusing on real estate clients.
Within 5 years I was responsible for managing accounts that represented ~£1m in revenue and a team of client executives. I also led a team to assess how technology could help serve property clients better.
In June 2015 I joined PIB to help create a new insurance broker. My first task was to set up the Norwich office, including finding space, hiring a team, implementing technology, developing protocols, creating a network and a regional profile. Now my attention is focused on developing PIB’s commercial property insurance proposition and helping develop strategic relationships with residential let property associations.
I am conscientious, hard-working, a good listener, approachable, enthusiastic, discreet and have a genuine passion for helping client research, assess, manage and transfer their business risks to help them achieve their goals.

Outside of work I am a fan of sailing (I have small coastal sailing yacht), rugby, and food (including cooking and brewing real ale & beer).
I’m also interested in web development and entrepreneurship. I am fascinated by the data revolution we are experiencing at the moment and how really imaginative, hard-working and clever people are turning their dreams into reality and helping others to achieve their dreams at the same time.
