Tomás Mesen

Born in Costa Rica, the country I love, grew up mostly in Mexico, the country were I grew up and opened my eyes to the whole world around me, now live and study in Canada at the University of British Columbia from where I explore the world and plan for my future. Previously passionate about architecture, film is now my driving force. Film and how film represents everything that surrounds us. Thus my interests and areas of knowledge go widely beyond the cinema itself; geography, modern history, politics, economics, science fiction, popculture, internet culture, futurism and beyond. My desire: to express all this knowledge through the medium of film. Because films represent who we are and what drives us as social beings. Because film is beautiful. Because it's a powerful medium. Because I believe there's no other way to channelize ideas more effectively than with film. I will leave this like this for now, but I will return and finish it when my valuable time allows it.
