Tom Heard

Tom Heard is an actor and screenwriter currently bringing his first feature screenplay, "Resurface," into production. An L.A. county native and naturalized Texan, Tom has appeared in several T.V. and film productions as well as numerous regional theatres across the country.

He starred in the film, "True Rights," which, Guerrilla Filmmaker Magazine described as, "an indie masterpiece," and played E.R. Doctor Nelson on the critically acclaimed series, "Friday Night Lights."

As a storyteller, he is interested in creating flawed characters in complicated, contemporary relationships, primarily through the prism of humor. "Resurface," is a romantic comedy containing four original songs written by Heard, who will play Jamie, a cabaret singer who has sworn off performing after a humiliating onstage meltdown. When confronted with his own selfish behavior, which led to his current predicament, Jamie must make the choice to either bury his head in the sand, or to get past himself and rejoin the world. And his life.
