Tom K Hicks

My passion for business began at the age of 18 sitting on the Board of Directors of my father’s company, Hicks Pension Services. Studying the company’s financials and witnessing the decision making process from the board room gave me my foundation for understanding business. I graduated from UCLA in 1985 and began working in the family business while attending San Joaquin College of Law. I passed the bar in 1992 and ventured from Hicks Pension Services to start my own company.

Over the years, our pension administration firm has grown and evolved in many ways. My company branched off to help start new companies in Washington, Oregon and Colorado and I relish in the pride of their success. I am constantly improving our business fundamentals to be more effective in a multi-generational social business environment. My team has joined the world of social media; collecting and sharing much of their pension knowledge through Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook. As we start our 21st year in business as NH HICKS, I am eager to see the future generation of Hicks join the field and face the business challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

My other passion is adventure skiing. I have hiked and skied all over the world including South America and Antarctica. I am excited to be attending my fourth year at Points North Heli-skiing in Cordova, Alaska later this year. I believe my adventure skiing in high risk environments has made me a better decision maker and business person.

I am a private pilot, father of two and happily married to Angelique, my wife of 16 years who also serves as CFO of NH HICKS.

I’m 50 years old and over those years have gained a perspective on life that I am pleased to share with you. I value every experience and mentor that has inspired me throughout my life. I will always welcome any comments and criticisms. I believe the world needs all opinions.

A special thanks to the help I received in putting my thoughts into words that make sense.
