Tom Nevels
Durham, NC
Tom Nevels is a theater educator based in Durham where he is currently technical director at Durham School of the Arts and an A+ Schools Program Fellow. He has worked previously as theater arts director for both Snipes Academy of Arts and Design in Wilmington, NC and Graham High School in Graham, N.C. Tom holds an M.A. in theater education from Emerson College and a B.F.A. in theater education from UNC Greensboro, and he is a North Carolina Teaching Fellows alumnus.
Since 1999, Tom has worked nearly every summer for the UNC Greensboro All-Arts, Science & Technology Camp. In addition, he has taught as artist-in-residence providing workshops to teachers and students throughout the country.
As a decade as a makeup artist, Tom also possesses extensive artistry and retail management experience with cosmetic lines including NARS, Lancôme, Bobbi Brown, and Laura Mercier. His skills are more than adequate to meet the challenges of educating beauty advisors, empowering clients, and driving sales.
