Tom Nixon

Tom Nixon serves as president of LV8 Communications, responsible for the creative and professional direction of the firm's professional team, as well as broadening and honing the firm's suite of integrated public relations service offerings. He founded the company in 2012, having served at numerous strategic communications firms previously—most recently as principal. In his nearly 20 years in the industry, Tom has remained enamored with the creative process—creative writing, thoughtful design and innovative forms of expressing ideas and concepts. He enjoys the art of marrying creativity with effective marketing strategy, all the while constantly exploring new channels through which companies can effectively communicate their marketing messages to targeted constituents.

The goal in forming LV8 was to provide a unique experience to small businesses and medium-sized companies—one that would be characterized by equal parts strategy and execution. As a result, he serves as "portable CMO" to his clients, as well as providing the extra bandwidth needed most by companies lacking a full-fledged marketing department...all the while leading a team of creative partners in the areas of graphic design, public relations, creative and technical writing, website development and design, branding strategy and social media marketing.

When he was just a wee lad, Tom earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and communications from the University of Michigan, where he wrote for the university's newspaper, The Michigan Daily.

Having given up a career in music to pursue marketing and PR in 1996, Tom likes to keep the glory days alive by maintaining an albeit amateurish music career on the side. Oh, and he likes him some vizslas.
