Tom Haines-doran

I am a PhD student at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. I am researching the political economy of rail privatisation in Britain.

In the past I have been a researcher at PTEG, now the Urban Transport Group, which is a body representing Britain's major city transport authorities. I have also been a full-time communist agitator. No, seriously.

Other than that I have had countless crummy jobs, usually for the purpose of saving to travel. In 2010-2011 I circumnavigated South America, travelling exclusively by land public transport, and investigated the political situation in each country using interviews and observation.
