Tom Tivol

I am a private jeweler in the Kansas City area and a nationally acclaimed G.I.A. graduate gemologist, lecturer, and teacher. I buy and sell diamonds, colored gemstones, and pearls, and have designed beautiful jewelry for clients around the United States for over 35 years. I also teach Gemology and Appraisal Ethics in the School of Art and Design at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, KS.

For 15 years, I served as the President of my family’s retail jewelry business, and then in 2004, I founded Tom Tivol Jewels. I built my business just for me. I work with every client and accept responsibility for all aspects of their jewelry requirements. It's my love of teaching that defines the experience of working with me, and this applies to all services and products that form the core of my work.

I am frequently called upon by the national media to issue opinions about trends in the jewelry industry and write many editorials for national trade publications. I often lecture at national trade shows and have been a frequent speaker at the prestigious international seminars held every five years by the Gemological Institute of America.
