Animal Rights Advocate and Content Editor in Palma, Espanya
I have worked in the field of corporate social responsibility and environmental assessment in Mexico during 2010-2014. In those years I worked a campaign coordinator as well as a lobbyist at AnimaNaturalis México. In my jobs as a project manager and environmental advisor, I gained professional skills that have helped me to improve my self-confidence and autonomy, determination, assertiveness and the management of work-teams.
On my return to Spain (2014), jointly with other nonhuman animal rights advocates, I founded Mirada Animal, an organization with an inter-sectional approach focused on the bridge building between the non-speciesist movement and other social movements such as feminism, anti-capitalism, and anti-colonialism. Recently, I graduated with an MA in International Studies on Media, Power and Difference (Pompeu Fabra University | 2018) that equipped me with new analytical tools and methodologies focused on social research as well as an interdisciplinary approach to improve my current nonhuman animal and global justice advocacy endeavors.
Currently, apart from being the content editor of Mirada Animal, I am doing some research on the following areas: critical animal and media studies, the clash between animal rights and minority cultural rights and WAS (Wild Animal Suffering) especially the conflict between the ethics positions held by animal advocates and environmental activists, and *how we should promote a shifting paradigm in Public Policy from environmental ethics to a non-speciesist animal ethics.
In addition to my research interests, I am looking for a Ph.D. program that allows me to develop a research project focused on how public policies should be designed to implement solutions that, at least, minimize the wild animals suffering. I do not rule out being able to carry out this work in an international animal rights organization sensitive to the question of wild animals suffering.
