Tony Smith

Hi,

If you've found this page then you have my CV and you're looking for a little more information about me.

I "could" use the old cliche that I am just an ordinary guy, but that's pretty much just me. I am a friendly outgoing guy. I don't get involved with politics. I love football and win lose or draw... well, more often lose, I am passionate about our national team.

I enjoy spending time with my younger brother and sister especially just now before they hit their teenage years and it becomes "uncool" to hang out with the big bro.

I enjoy reading and a Kindle is one on my permanent accessories. I have a passion for Greek mythology and was fortunate enough to visit the Greek Isles in 2005 on a family holiday. Since then we had holidays to Florida, but for me, visiting Greece was the holiday of a lifetime as it is steeped in history and folklore.

I have worked since 2004 starting at the local chip shop then onto glass collecting at Styx the local pool/snooker club here in Glenrothes. I was soon made up to supervisor for four other glass collectors. It was a good job and I enjoyed dealing with customers.

Before I left school in 2005, I secured a four month work placement with Micronas Ltd in their warehouse which I enjoyed greatly, so when a full time post came along as a Test Operative it was an easy decision. I applied and got the job.

In 2011 I applied for a job and was successful. I handed in me resignation at Micronas then was told the job I had applied for was no longer available as the company went into administration. Im my young and foolish wisdom I figured I had made my bed and that I would lie in it and I would get a job pretty soon. Then what happened? We entered a recession and there were suddenly no jobs in my line. Hindsight is a great thing.

Late in 2012 I secured a post at Amazon UK in ICQA (Inventory Control and Quality Assurance). During this time I was promoted to Personal Assistant to the Team leader and I was given trusted access to the high risk value area to carry out audits etc, As this was a seasonal position, my contract was terminated in February 2013.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my page

kind regards,

Tony

P.S. You may wonder why I have a picture of a road.... life is a journey and this is the road to finding me employment.
