Tony Brooks

Adelaide, South Australia, Australia

Tony came from England in 1971 as a teacher and got involved in all forms of the arts in South Australia. Retiring early from teaching in the eighties he began to write in all genres, but particularly focussing on rarely visited characters and incidents in Australian history. A considerable number of novels, plays and film scripts later he is still intrigued by the richness of the past of his adopted country. But avoids any mention of Ned Kelly or Captain Moonlight.

Latest novel, 'Black Legions', a romantic adventure story set in Ethiopia at the time of the fascist invasion in the thirties.

Black Legions is now getting some pretty rave reviews. But my collection of poetry and prose, Nosegay has given me a lot of pleasure in sharing my past writing with readers. Also involved in promoting some children's books via a puppet play u tube channel. Will launch several projects at the SA writers' centre later in the year.
