I was born in the Yukon to a former engineer and an Italian perfumiere. If you think about all the implications of that, then much of my life will make sense to you.

I have a background in engineering and the physical sciences, and have done a great many jobs including heavy equipment mechanic, draft designer for the shipping industry, fish market worker, hotelier, private bodyguard and driver, and portrait artist.

As CEO and Publisher of StarkLight Press, I am privileged to be able to present the best of Canadian and International Speculative Fiction to the world from some of our finest unsung minds.

I feel it's important to remember that most of the world we live in today has been brought to being by the innovations outlined in our most beloved science fiction. We cannot make the world progress unless we first imagine it, and much of what we treasure in our collective modern folklore we treasure because it has more than a grain of the greater reality in it.

To quote my father, Vincent H. Stark- "Just because it's a story, doesn't mean it isn't true."
