Tony Atienza

Tony Atienza is a musical director and teacher who has over 20 years of experience having mainly worked with a variety of educational facilities and musical theaters. During his career, Tony Atienza has received several awards, including being named by the California Music Educator’s Association as the 2011 Multicultural Teacher of the Year, as well as Teacher of the Year 2017.
Mr. Atienza first started down this career path after studying vocal performance at the University of California, Irvine, and teaching at San Diego State University. During that time, he also had a role as an assistant conductor for the San Diego State Chamber Singers.
Tony Atienza has had a variety of roles since then, and recently served as a musical director and adjunct faculty piano class instructor for Southwestern College, positions he held between 2006 and 2016. As a musical director, he holds credits for a variety of productions, including School House Rock, Les Miserables, The Lion King, and many more.
