Tony Cecala

Tony is a sought-after consultant, speaker, and digital pioneer who brings successful hi-tech strategies to local business niches. At Newsroom Ink, a brand journalism company, he develops advanced online newsrooms for business, government, and non-profit organizations. Tony is a technology support consultant to Speakeasy and DMNMedia, managing their server farm and architecting content marketing platforms using WordPress.

For the past 20 years Tony has pioneered digital approaches to local advertising, niche marketing, and event production. He published the Holistic Networker magazine, a local directory of alternative medicine, and successfully took it online where he garnered advertising revenue from local and global event marketing, pioneered pay-per-click techniques for underutilized keywords, and integrated monetization strategies from both Yahoo and Google advertising programs on the same page using proprietary optimization algorithms. Tony studied and optimized click patterns across US time zones and developed software to adjust both bidding and ad placement for maximizing profits.

Tony embraces both high tech and high touch, Producing the Emerging Tech Conference on content marketing (2011, 2012) and the Wellness Expo® (1994-present). He also runs the DFW WordPress Meetup with over 1600 members.

While at Yale University, Tony earned two masters and a doctorate in Psychology. Tony developed accounting software for Yale’s Psychology department, became Yale’s first online software librarian, and co-founded the Yale Macintosh User Group. After graduation, he took a position at Texas Instruments in the “user-systems engineering” group. Where did research in UI/UX, designed hypertext software systems for TI and presented strategic analysis to upper management on emerging trends in information technology. After leaving TI, Tony co-founded Visual Interface Architects, a software development and consulting firm. VIA designed user interfaces and multimedia videodisc software for Fortune 500 companies, government and educational agencies (including NASA), and private international clients.
