Tony Dodson

I am a native of Mississippi, and have enjoyed the last nine years in Texas. My parents, my brother, and I spent most of our growing years in Pontotoc, Mississippi, where my brother and his family still reside. My wife, Darlene, and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this past December. We have been blessed to have three children: Aaron, Alec, and our daughter, Bradie. I am grateful to my parents for so many reasons, without them I would not be the person that I am.

There are a number of criteria that we seek as we begin the search for a new home and school. My family is my number one priority. I have to believe that Bradie will be challenged and pushed to her academic limits. I want to be challenged as a teacher because I want to do as well in the classroom as I do in the gym. The school and the town should be a safe environment in which we can grow as a family, and it should be one in which we feel at home.

My personality is a very competitive one, and I take my work very seriously. Due to my upbringing, I value the rewards of hard work. I realize that nothing will, or should, be handed to me. I have to be willing to earn it. My students and players must understand that concept for success to follow. As a coach, it is my job to develop not only a winning program, but to teach the values and responsibilities that must accompany the success.
