Cleantech entrepreneur best known for his pioneering work in prepaid solar electricity for variable loads. He is the chief service designer and CEO of WiSolar, one of the fastest-growing solar electricity companies in South Africa.

In 2007, Irims introduced the first dual SIM mobile phone in South Africa which paved the way for the acceptance and saturation of other dual SIM devices.

His company, WiSolar offers up to 100MW small scale embedded generation (SSEG) for Prepaid solar electricity in residential developments across South Africa.

WiSolar has been providing solar financing to homeowners in South Africa since June 2020 in an effort to make solar electricity accessible to consumers in the country.

Irims is responsible for setting the overall direction, stakeholder engagement, product strategy for the company, and partner onboarding. He leads the design of WiSolar's service and development of its infrastructure and core technology. Tonye studied marketing at the University of Port Harcourt. Clean Power from the Imperial College London, and New Models of Business in Society from University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

My interests range from technology to design. I am also interested in innovation, volunteering, and reading.
