Giovanna Torales

What’s up, I’m Giovanna. I’m a student living in New York. In the past, I was someone who really enjoyed the genre of k-pop on a general scale. This has changed because I no longer keep up with popular groups or the industry, however, I still really enjoy a singular group (LOONA). My love for k-pop and music made me realize that I wanted to be a singer (a realistic goal because I do, in fact, sing), but now, I am more interested in studying the environmental sciences. Additionally, I had lots of friends because I was at the point in which I was partly in the ESL program but also in a regular native-English-speaking class; therefore, I had many friends from both sides. I was still not completely fluent in English but, as you can see, I have become better at it!

I tend to doubt myself in making big decisions, and my future is not something that is very clear to me (yet!). This is something I hope to overcome in the future. I want to trust myself more, and be proud of the decisions I make because I believe they will help me achieve my goals. Additionally, I want to become friends with people who are interested in the same lifestyle that I’m interested in, which is a positive one and that we all help each other become better people.

Something that I still have in common with my past self and that I will have in common with my future self is my love for the sciences, books, music and animals. This has never changed for a long time and they are what I believe make me, me.
