A graduate of the University of Lyon in France and the Economics College in Norway, the multi-talented Tor Henrik Stavnes balances a busy career in the oil and gas sector with the pursuit of a diverse range of arts and athletics. A certified teacher in windsurfing, skiing, and sailing, he competed for Norway in the 1974 windsurfing world championship held on the French Ile de Bendor in the Mediterranean Sea. An accomplished sailor and yachtsman, Tor Henrik Stavnes once completed a 40-day sail along the entire East Coast of the United States.
In addition to his success as a sportsman, Mr. Stavnes plays the piano and listens to the music of Johann Sebastian Bach. He also speaks multiple languages, including English, German, French, and the Scandinavian languages. During his free time, he enjoys traveling the world and sampling international cuisines.
Professionally, Mr. Stavnes has spent more than 35 years in the oil and gas industry. He began his career as a cost engineer for Mobil Exploration Norway, where he was responsible for implementing various project functions. Since then, he has worked for major companies in Norway, Canada, and the United States. Currently, he serves as the CEO of INECO DFI, a Texas-based firm which provides oil and gas services to major companies.
