Torrence Boone has been hired by Google as the managing director of agency business development. His responsibilities include strengthening and enhancing the relationship between Google and marketing & advertising agencies in the U.S. He is also mandated to generate innovative ideas to leverage Goggles existing and new products.
Torrence Boone joint Google in 2010 after successfully serving as CEO at Enfatico, a company that worked on global needs for the Dell Computer Company. He has also served in other capacities including serving as a president of Digitas Boston – a firm that is reputed for providing strategy, marketing solution to various internet based clients.
These appointments have put Torrence Boone a step ahead as a leading African-American guru in the tech world. Google, one of the top influential tech companies in the world has elevated Boone’s reputation and has put him in a class that his rivals can only dream of.
This is the second year Boone is serving at Google while at the same time sitting on the board of Joyce Theatre in New York. Boone’s past history is intriguing. He was at some point a professional dancer, a career he started pursuing at the age of 13 while in school. He attended the prestigious Philips Andover boarding school. He later furthered his studies at Harvard Business School where he took a summer off to pursue his dancing hobby at Jacob’s Pillow- a renowned dance center in Berkshire in Massachusetts.
As far as his future is concerned, Torrence Boone has hinted that he is fascinated by business leadership and is committed at building his capability and contribution to the tech field. Currently, he is doing some writing and working on his second novel. He also plans to increase his contribution to both corporate and non-profit entities where he serves as a patron.
