Jean-Marie Baltimore
Well I'mm French, originally from the French West Indian island of Guadeloupe. I was born on the hills of the Soufrière volcano a long time ago. Befiore I was ten i moved to continental France and started to study there. Then went to the United States when i first volunteered with the Phoenix House Foundation porject in New York City. Then went back to Europe and lived in several countries, amoing them Holland and Sweden and Italy. Then started to work for an inetrenational scinetific publisher in Paris, Pergamon Press, where my job was to oversee libraries in France and their acquisitions of scientific books, reviews and journals. Then I eventually quit to start working as a teacher for 2 years and then moved to Brasil to treach French as a foriegn language and English. I've been here for a while now and have styarted the Tout-Monde Brasil organization in order to try to make some sustainable change in my Brazilian environment. I live in Salvador and our NGo is dedicated to be a channel between international volunteers and local grassroots communities in order to attain results through community based ecotourism mainly but also education and health based activities to different communities in Bahia, in Salvador metropolitan area, of course, but also in off-track places with with low Human Developement Rates such as Piemonte de Diamantina cities and villages (Umburanas, Jacobina, Capim Grosso) as well as Chapa Diamantina cities like Irauqara, Lençois and Seabra.
