"Every man, every woman, carries in heart and mind the image of the ideal place, the right place, the one true home, known or unknown, actual or visionary." Edward Abbey
I like to be on a trail in the mountains, desert or forest more than anywhere else. I find peace in the solitude, and it is often quiet. I can hear myself think without distraction. My mind is always working, it never rests, so listening provides solace. As I travel, I note all that I see, do, and observe. It has made me who I am. Facing all challenges head-on, I welcome change, and will forever be in search of the ideal place to call my home.
I write. I do this to share ideas, express myself, explore the hopes and realities of the people in my life, and of course, to fulfill. My favorite books are Roget's Thesaurus and my encyclopedias that I have had since I was a small child. Finding the perfect word for every sentence and constructing paragraphs and passages fills me with energy. I spend my days and nights creating new ways to use words! I love books, all of them. So if you find me on the trail, ask to see which book I am escorting into the solitude.
