We are Tofes (Christopher) & Ant and this year we are raising as much money for charity – Cancer Council Queensland. Together, we are ‘The Wounded Pelicans’ which is a Gold Coast team made of 2 local boys who love to run.

We started this because last year we ran 8 marathons and thought we could ramp it up this year. As well as doing 27+ massive endurance events in one year, we are planning on raising at least $20k or as close as we can. With the amount of training and marathons we are doing, we will probably clock 2,500+ kms each this year! We thought we’d really push ourselves and run at least one half marathon, a full marathon, an ultra-marathon, a cross country trail, an obstacle course, a triathlon, and even the Kokoda Trail in PNG with this mammoth schedule.

We have chosen to run for cancer because of the following reasons:

1. We really want to help people and with us running as much as possible, we can help along the way.

2. We also chose Cancer Council QLD them because they’re always involved at some of the events we are at so it’s good to see their team go through excruciating pain with us.

3. There isn’t a cure for all cancers yet so us running and raising money for them is our way of helping.

4. Hopefully it will inspire young people just like us to be constantly out of the comfort zone.

We’ve created an EveryDayHero support page (https://give.everydayhero.com/au/the-wounded-pelicans) which has our story/ bio/ our races and where anyone can donate toward our $20k fundraiser. We post our photos from this journey which you can see on our Instagram and Facebook - buttons are below. Feel free to follow us on either as we are trying to grow our following to be as big as possible so we can be known for what we are doing for cancer awareness and toward our vision for 2017.
