TRACEY EASTER

Born and raised in Northern San Diego county, I have been writing & photographing since I was in elementary school. The same elementary school my son went to. Writing for me has been a way to document my history, little pieces of information to keep me accurate, yet to show me how very consistent my soul is. When I read my past works, I rejoice in the fact that I never changed my heart. I did not stray from my core values or give up on my beliefs. When I look at old photographs I'm reminded that I am a mother of a twenty one year old and I am about to be forty, and I have many pictures and notes to prove it! Brad and I now live in South Lake Tahoe California so the scenery has changed a bit, and the weather, and the way people drive and talk to one another. We found peace and where the Angels breathe and Brad no longer cares to have me photograph him, in fact he prefers that I just don't! The past 5 years my newest photos are mainly of people no one in my family knows. Every shoot I display my favorite one or two images in my home. Needless to say my walls are filling up with faces no one but I recognize, and that's o k. Brad can't complain of seeing his face at every corner. These framed pieces are there to remind me that I am capable of creating a photograph that can bring on such a range of emotions for myself and for others, and to remind Brad that he is my number one photographed person, ever. And since he is 'over it' I had to move on to people who would appreciate my skills and pay me for it as well. Having fallen 400 feet for a photograph I never did get and having been sprayed with jet fuel and then pneumonia from it. Well I have learned a bit about what not to do. And that's O K too. That is what happens when we start to grow old and look back on our history. And I am thankful for every bit of it.
