Richard Powers wrote that librarians are the gas station attendants of the mind. He just might be right.

From staffing the reference desk to running a state-wide library service, my mission has always been to help people find and access the information they need to follow their dreams. Whether I'm helping by training readers to use some new-fangled book reader, advocating for library funding, or finding the money for more Braille and audio books to be produced for blind readers, I'm simply handing out road maps – it's the library user who sets the destination.

Lately, I've been helping people with disabilities learn how they too can access the digital world with the right tools and training.

So, yeah, I'm just the gal at the gas pump, filling the tank with high octane, before my customers speed off ... as far as their imaginations take them.
