Traci J. Reeves

Consultant and Teacher in Las Vegas, Nevada

My love for all things arts, media and cinema led me to pursue a B.A. degree in Cinema-Television from the University of Southern California and an M.A. degree in Cinema & Media Studies from the University of Chicago. However, it was my tenure as the 2010-2012 Consortium for Faculty Diversity fellow at Reed College (Portland, OR) that cemented my true calling for higher education. There, I facilitated film and media courses on topics exploring race, gender and religion in American cinematic and popular culture.

Inspired by my experience as an Admissions Counselor at the University of Chicago, I launched the Renaissance Strategy Group to help high school students prepare their college admission applications. I am proud to say that I've mentored students who have matriculated to schools such as Pepperdine, University of Chicago, USC film school, Hampton and most recently Duke School of Nursing.

In 2018, I answered the call to teach young learners in K-12 education. I have worked as a guest teacher at my high school alma mater in film studies and later was a full-time third grade teacher for two years. I now currently serve as a guest teacher in an elementary school arts and humanities classroom.

Also, I serve seasonally in an Admissions role at the USC Rossier School of Education as an Application reader. And currently, I moonlight as a Table Games dealer at the Sahara Hotel and Casino as a late stage act of rebellion. 🤭

In my free time, I enjoy attending live shows and dance events of all genres but currently I’m a hardcore fan of global K-pop sensation, BTS!
