Findability is “the degree to which a particular object is easy to discover or locate” (Peter Morville, 2005, Ambient Findability)

My first after school job was in the public library. I developed an appreciation of the Dewey Decimal system and never looked back, except for that whirlwind decade in advertising…

Luckily, a digital asset management project at DDB reignited my interest in library and information sciences. I quickly obtained an MLIS and a position as a Digital Asset Manager administering a system for a high profile client following several awesome metadata projects and an internship at a worldwide media giant.

While I currently manage the day-to-day operations of an enterprise level DAM system, I like to keep one foot in the door of traditional library and archive work by volunteering at my local historical society and participating in organizations like the Seattle Area Archivists. I am a guest lecturer at the University of Washington iSchool too.

My information related interests include taxonomy, metadata, cataloging, digitization, search, social media, digital asset management, emerging technologies and visual resources. In addition, I am avidly interested in connecting users with special collections via digital collections.

Call me the Space Age Librarian, Visual Resource Manager, Image Content Specialist, Cataloging and Metadata Librarian or Digital Asset Management Expert.
