How to get a duplicate ticket using PNR number

Every railway ticket booked is allocated a unique 10 digit PNR Number which can be used to track the PNR status of the booking. This PNR number is stored with the Centre of Railway Information System along with the personal information of the passenger like age and gender. The PNR number also comes in handy if you lose your railway ticket before the date of your journey. Using the PNR number, the passenger can get a duplicate railway ticket issued.

# Process for getting the duplicate ticket issued

In case of Passenger Reservation System ticket

If the lost railway ticket is a Passenger Reservation System counter ticket (PRS), you can visit any computerized reservation counter and contact the Chief Reservation supervisor to inform him about the lost ticket. You will need an ID proof as well as your PNR number to get a duplicate ticket which will be issued with the same PNR number. The duplicate ticket will be issued only if the original ticket had RAC or confirmed train PNR status.
