The first thing to keep in mind is to have the right attitude. Of course, you are dreading the talk but try putting it in perspective. Really, what is the worst that can happen? Maybe you forget your lines or you really freeze up like a deer in the headlights - sure those aren't great. However, nobody is physically going to harm you and you aren't going to get fired (at least if you work for a reasonable company or boss). Also remember that people want you to do well. Fear of public speaking is common with a large percentage of people, so they can relate.
Okay, here goes - the absolute, number one thing you can do to reduce your public speaking anxiety is to PREPARE LIKE MAD. Yes, this means spending time learning and mastering the content of your talk. Yes, it also means practicing your speech over and over. Here is the recipe:

Scope out the event location - the room, where you'll be standing, what props you might have.
Get information about the event itself - when will you be speaking and how long? Will there a podium, project, microphone, etc.
Know your content - get as much information you can about your topic and be able to answer questions or relay a story if necessary.
Prepare your content - structure your speech or presentation based on the content you have mastered. Get slides ready or notecards if they will help you get through the event.
Practice - say your talk out loud
Practice more - do your speech in front of a close friend or family
Repeat the last two steps many times!

Don't try memorizing your speech word for word either. As you practice more, you probably will do some sort of unconscious memorization, but just focus on delivering good content.
