Transitive Closure

Transitive Closure is a jazz ensemble with a broad repertoire of jazz standards, from Monk to Jobim, and original compositions. The group features the unique sound of a jazz violin blended with a traditional jazz rhythm section. The members of Transitive Closure are Marty Honda on violin, Fred Malouf on guitar, Joe Roark on piano and Preston Carter on bass. Guest musicians include Tom Povse on flute, Gil Cohen on trumpet, Ricky Takahashi and Jack Kerns on drums.

We can play as a duo, trio, quartet or more. We have performed at various restaurants, wine bars and cafes in the San Francisco bay area.
