The Traveler's Wife
Southwest Michigan
I'm JuliAnne, 30-something Mom of one, living in Southwest Michigan. Eleven years ago, I met this really great guy...and four years later, I marred him in the most beautiful beachside ceremony a girl could have. A year of newlywed bliss followed. And then.........I became a Traveler's Wife.
I blog about my journey through this time of non-traditional marriage to a Union Traveler. I write about the tough stuff every Traveler's Wife goes through: loneliness, fear, doubt, worry, anxiety, depression, anger, and all the other crazy emotions that go along with this job. But I also (probably more so) like to write about the daily adventures on the farm of a do-it-all, on-your-own, homeschooling Momma. Oh, I forgot to mention that I'm not just a Traveler's Wife, I care for my Mother, run a farm and homeschool too? That means there's some pretty wild adventures around here. Like goats in the bathroom, and science experiments permanently attached to the kitchen ceiling.
We're a real family. We're not perfect. There are many days we make it from Breakfast to Bed only by the grace of God. I have spent hours on my knees crying out in loneliness and desperation for God to hear me and just get me through until tomorrow. And so, I'm here because I want to encourage you other wives, if your husband is in the Trades as a Traveler, or in the military, or maybe he is a truck-driver or takes long business trips.
I want you to know you're not alone. You can do this. So grab a cup of coffee (ahem, or a pot of coffee, for you other over-worked and exhausted Mommas) and let's sit and share for a bit.
