Welcome to the About.Me page for "Travels Through Dallas." I'll be walking throughout Dallas, taking snapshots of points of interests, and documenting them in various websites across the web.

Since I work in downtown Dallas, I decided taking walks during my lunch breaks was good for my health. On top of this, I noticed that taking in the sights from various attractions boosts my creativity to further help me in my work. Lastly, the third benefit is that I come to work relaxed, which allows me to produce much more than I normally would be able to.

You might be asking, "Where do you work?" Great question. My starting point in my walks is at the Kelley Law Firm, located at 201 N. Harwood St. The law firm specializes in wrongful deaths, personal injuries, and lawsuits stemming from accidents at the faults of others.

I just finished a short trek towards the south of our building and my first stop was "The Giant Eyeball" located at 1607 Elm Street. If you ever find yourself walking downtown, be sure to visit this 30-foot eye that gazes straight ahead. I find it to be calming at times and it takes my mind off work.

Another point of interest due southwest is Pioneer Plaza. In here you'll notice the statue of cattle and cowboys and a flowing stream. I find walking through this plaza stimulates my imagination, and the level of detail on the sculptures re-energizes me for the day.

Due slightly more down South you can encounter Dealey Plaza. You'll spot fountains, and across the street on Main and South Houston Street, you'll spot the Old Red Museum. Just a short block away you can also find the Sixth Floor Museum.

All in all, it's surprising how quick you can get to many of the major attractions in Dallas just by being at the center.
