Daneisha Mathews

A young lady committed to her life goals that refuse to believe the sky is the limit when there has been evidence of man-kind stepping foot on the moon. A Dallas, Texas native who concludes the greatest form of motivation is self-motivation. I am Daneisha L. Mathews a graduate of Clark Atlanta University. December of 2012 I completed my undergraduate degree receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting. After closing the door to my undergraduate chapter I took on a new journey to further my education at Troy University. As a graduate student at Troy University I am pursuing my Masters of Science in Human Resource Management. While attending Troy I am preparing for the CPA (Certified Public Accountant) Exam. In the mist of completing my undergraduate degree I snagged a Human Resource Director Internship where I gained knowledge on the important roles the HRD serves within a company. As an intern I was responsible for maintaining employee files as they relate to audit ethics, conducting phone interviews, scheduling and assisting with face-to-face interviews, completing I-9 and W2 forms, and performing background checks. The customer service skills I obtained while working in retail as an adolescent accommodated me with communicating effectively with the employees and prospective employees within my internship. As I continue along this journey to reach the highest mountain top I will carry along the message and lessons learned from my mentors and life experiences for these experiences have helped sculpted me into a humbled individual. "To some life struggles are life lessons; to others life struggles are life excuses!"-Daneisha L. Mathews
