Trent Gillaspie

As a kid, I was obsessed with the radio – making mix tapes and recording my voice as the DJ, setting the stage for each song in the playlist. I excitedly handed them out to friends who grew used to my compilations. I became increasingly interested in the individual parts that made up each song. As I’ve grown up, I will spend an occasional evening on whosampled.net, testing my knowledge of where samples originally came from in the songs I love.

Today, I am still captivated by samples, but as it relates to different pieces of technology and how they mix together to improve the way we live.

My passion is still being the DJ – finding the right technologies and knowing the right people to mix and match together in inventive ways, in order to solve everyday problems.

And I still excitedly hand out those connections of ideas and technologies to friends, except now my friends are clients, and now the technology mix tapes I help create generate millions of dollars in annual revenue.I love adding new relationships to the mix.
