Trevor Edwards is the former president of a major global sports apparel line. He worked for the company for 26 years before retiring in 2018. He served in numerous positions within the company, climbing his way up through the ranks, and held the number two position for five years. Edwards also sat on the Board of Directors for Mattel, Inc from 2012 to 2018. Edwards is currently workingasabusinessconsultant, helping companies build diverse and productive teams.

Edwards grew up in the South London suburb of Norbury. His father was an accountant and her mother was a nurse. Edwards has three siblings. When he was 13 years old, the family moved to Kingston, Jamaica. It was a bit of a culture shock, but Edwards credits the Caribbean island nation for "teaching me to see the world from a different perspective". He says he learned to love Jamaica. It was in Jamaica that Edwards developed a love of playing sports. He was active in basketball, football and cricket. He also three the discus and participated in gymnastics.

Edwards earned a Bachelor's of Business Administration degree and a Master's of Business Administration degree from Baruch College in New York City. After graduating from college, Edwards went to work on Wall Street, for Goldman Sachs. However, even though he was making money, he found he had no passion for the job. It was his mother who told him it was okay to begin again. She encouraged him to find something he enjoyed. After nearly three decades working in an industry he loves, Edwards says, "I always tell people that my parents never pushed me, they guided me."

Edwards has earned numerous awards during his career, including being named to "Sports Illustrated's" 101 Most Influential Minorities in Sports in 2003-04 and being including in "Black Enterprise" magazine's list of 50 Most Powerful Blacks in Sports in 2005.

Trevor Edwards currently lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife, Carolyn and their two sons.
