He was awarded the Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Legacy Award for Religion by the Austin Area Heritage Council for his leadership in the community and on campus. His model of organization and leadership for high school campus ministry is used by some Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministries across Texas.

Minister Crayton has founded and led numerous bible studies on college campuses in Texas and Oregon. He has devised plans that have helped college campus ministries grow numerically and excel spiritually. Minister Crayton was an active leader of the Student Clergy on the campus of Huston-Tillotson University in Austin, TX and became a favorite speaker among the faculty and students of the university.

Minister Crayton has served in various state governmental positions; including House Sergeant and Legislative Aide for the Texas House of Representatives.
