Dr. Diedrich works with the Illinois Department of Human Services, Division of Substance Use Prevention and Recovery. She currently serves as the Manager of the Licensing Section within the Bureau of Licensure, Compliance and Monitoring. Her previous positions include Administrator of Integrated Recovery Support Services, Mental Illness Substance Abuse (MISA) Manager and the Quality Assurance Manager for IDHS/SUPR. Her expertise includes substance use disorder prevention, intervention, treatment and recovery. She has an extensive background working to develop programs, lead policy change, and implement evidence-based practices for substance use and mental health disorders. Dr. Diedrich is an Internationally Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor, Certified Recovery Support Specialist, and a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist. Dr. Diedrich was a major contributor for several important projects, including the Co-Occurring Disorder Program (CDP), the Dual Diagnosis Capability in Addiction Treatment (DDCAT), and the Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential in Illinois. Her professional affiliations include past membership on the Springfield Mayors Taskforce on Homelessness, Springfield Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and advisory capacity on the Illinois Suicide Prevention Alliance and the Illinois Problem and Compulsive Gambling Alliance. Dr. Diedrich conducts trainings for individuals in recovery, professionals in the mental health and substance use disorder field and to a broader base of academic and professional service providers throughout the United States.
