Trinh Theresa Do

A fresh graduate of Ryerson University's School of Journalism, Theresa is a 2013 Joan Donaldson CBC News Scholar—one of eight chosen from all of Canada. She's worked at the CBC's foreign bureau in London, UK and at the parliamentary bureau in Ottawa where she chase-produced and researched top international and political stories.

She also produced a documentary on Toronto's response to the Danzig Street shooting in 2012, profiling a youth outreach worker and his struggle to fund his neighbourhood basketball association in the city's east-end.

Aside from journalism, Theresa is executive assistant and youth program director of Dreams Fulfilled Relief Organization, an international development and poverty relief nonprofit organization.

She is extremely passionate about world political issues, especially the changing relations between the global North and South. She hopes to soon find herself in the realm of international development, making serious decisions about how to improve human welfare.

"One person can make a difference, and everyone should try."
