Intrepid sailors, perpetual travellers and lovers of food. In May 2014, we began our journey aboard Thorfinn, our 45-foot Adam's designed cutter rigged yacht. Leaving the coming South Australian winter behind, we headed north to more tropical climates.

We are now entrenched in the delightful tropical climate of South East Asia. Our travels have so far taken us along the south, east, and north coasts of Australia, into Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, China, Hong Kong, and Philippines and, by land, into Singapore, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar, Macau, Switzerland, France, England, Netherlands, Spain, Italy, Malta, Greece, Croatia, Albania, Austria, Liechtenstein, Germany, Turkey, Dubai, and Oman.

We have met some interesting people along the way, including many people from remote Indonesian island communities. People on these remote islands are always happy to see a new face and often welcome us into their villages, homes and schools with friendly smiles and open hearts.

We are constantly meeting and interacting with people of differing cultural, religious and political backgrounds, and our eyes are opened to new values and conjecture on a daily basis. Although we have our own beliefs, or lack thereof, depending on your view, the perspective, sentiment and judgement of the people we meet is a heterogeneous collection of ideas and postulation that has certainly given us an insight into other ways of life.

We have had some incredible up-close encounters with wildlife. A visit to Kumai to see the orang-utans is a must-do. Taking pictures of hornbill birds in the wild was a thrill, as is every single "Nemo" clownfish encounter. We also rescued a turtle wrapped in fishing nets and rubbish!

And the amazing places we have been to... what can I say! It is just as Bill Bryson says in the quote below.
