Triratna Croydon
Croydon UK
The Croydon Buddhist Centre is part of the Charity Triratna Buddhist Community Surrey (270460) The charity comprises of the Buddhist centre, Hidden Gems charity shop, Aryatara men's community and Rivendell Buddhist Retreat centre.
The Croydon Buddhist centre is a quiet oasis in the bustle and noise of Croydon, offering drop in classes in Meditation and Buddhism, Introductory Courses, Dharma Study as well as day events and festivals. In addition, the centre houses Oasis Yoga & Health where we run drop in yoga classes and have therapists offering various treatments.
The aim of the centre is to provide a place for people to come and learn about the Dharma in a way which is accessible and applicable to modern life. Our teachings come to us through Bhante Sangharakshita, who after living as Buddhist monk in India, returned to the UK to found his own Buddhist Community.
Sangharakshita emphasises that the Buddhist tradition is united by the defining act of Going for Refuge to the Three Jewels: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha.
