Hi, I'm Tristan Fung.

I've completed undergraduate degrees in Law and Commerce at the University of New South Wales and hold several IT-related certifications.

I now operate the International Wing Chun Academy, which my father, Jim Fung, started in 1973.

I began training in Wing Chun at age 5, so it's always been a significant part of my identity. When my father died in 2007, continuing his legacy became an important pursuit of mine.

In memory of my father, I started a Memorial Fund to raise money for cancer research. So far, we've donated $30,000 to medical research (via St Vincent's Hospital, The Kinghorn Cancer Centre and QIMR Berghofer) and are working towards our next donation milestone.

I've been fascinated by the intersection of creativity and technology since I was 10 when I stumbled upon a QBasic book in my school library and learned to code a text-based adventure game. By Year 8, I had earned my first cheque from my fledgling game development website, which later branched into a network of web, game and graphic design websites.

Since my mid-teens, I've managed all IT-related aspects of the International Wing Chun Academy's national business, from its website, eCommerce, eMarketing, helpdesk, CRM and LMS platforms to its internal networks and devices. I continue to spend my spare time developing my skills, with my current interests being data science, cybersecurity and Python 3.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis, practising guitar, and occasionally attending acting courses at NIDA and Screenwise. I sometimes have the opportunity to demonstrate Wing Chun on screen, and I recently performed in an ABC Australia docuseries titled 'Stuff the British Stole', which aired in November 2022.
