Trixie Doll

Trixie Doll began her drag career on a whim, when her and her friend, Vanessa Yvonne (http://www.etsy.com/shop/nessaland), decided to dress up to go to the local gas station for milk. The gas station attendant asked if they were going to a rave, to which they responded with a tongue in cheek, yes.

Dressing up, to her, was one the purest and most exciting forms of expression she had experienced.

Ever since, Trixie took every chance she could get to get dressed up, including every Halloween thereafter, and the annual "spirit week" events at her high school.

It wasn't until her freshmen year of college, where she was exposed to the art of upstate drag sensation Isis Vermouth (https://www.facebook.com/isisvermouth?fref=ts) that she decided to take on drag (and performance art) as a full time hobby, profession, and career.

Four years later, she has studied with and performed under artists such as comedian Mark Gindick of the Ringling Bros., video artist Kate Gilmore, Director/Producer David Bassuk, Actress/Teacher Ronni Stewart, Voguer Benni Ninja, and (famous for her aerial performance on the Williamsburg Bridge) Acrobat Seanna Sharpe, and as a result, has developed a grab bag full of fun and fabulous performative talents and skills that include hula hooping, vogueing, media entangled performance production, silks, lyra, cloud swing, and stilts.

In July of 2013, she packed up her things and moved to the big apple to chase her dreams. She enrolled and completed a 3 month aerial intensive with Seanna Sharpe, and has been performing in and around NYC for the last six months; From modeling at the local Williamsburg bar "This N' That" for their weekly "Drink N' Draw" event, to performing a holiday spectacular at The State University of New York at Purchase.
